Psychose – Eine Krankheit, die nicht heilbar scheint, eine Diagnose, die das Leben der Betroffenen buchstäblich auf den Kopf stellt. Nichts ist mehr, wie es war, an Aufenthalte in der Psychiatrie schließt sich eine oft lebenslange Abhängigkeit von Medikamenten an, deren Nebenwirkungen gravierend sein können.
Über die Krankheit zu sprechen ist ein Tabu – denn wer erklärt sich schon freiwillig für verrückt? Die selbst betroffene Autorin und Regisseurin Gamma Bak hat es zum ersten Mal überhaupt gewagt, über die diversen Stadien ihrer Krankheit einen autobiografischen Film zu drehen.
Entstanden ist ein extrem intimes und faszinierendes Selbstporträt, das nicht nur einen Einstieg in das komplexe Thema bietet, sondern auch einen direkten Einblick in das Ringen mit der Diagnose „Psychose“ und der damit verbundenen Stigmatisierung erlaubt.
