Das digitale Verfahren für die elektronische Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung (eAU) geht aktuell mit einem zusätzlichen zeitlichen Aufwand von 50 Sekunden pro Fall einher. Hochgerechnet auf die Gesamtzahl der jährlich ausgestellten Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigungen entsteht damit ein zusätzlicher Bürokratieaufwand in Höhe von etwa 1,25 Millionen Stunden in den Vertragsarztpraxen.
