Hand in hand with improving political collaboration in Europe, there is also an increasing need of European harmonization not only in mental health policy, but also in psychiatric assessment, treatments, health care standards, ethical issues, destigmatization, and identity. The process of harmonization is inhibited among other things by culture differences, language diversity across Europe, and by discrepancies in financial resources available at local, national and European levels. European Psychiatric Association (EPA) has realized that there is not enough information available among European practitioners, trainees and other professionals.
